Sheila Watson founded Discovery Gardens Family Childcare in 2004, a result of having four small children of her own and being very disappointed in lack of affordable, safe and reliable childcare.
She decided to go back to college to study Early Childhood Education and open a childcare of her own – one that would be affordable, safe, reliable, and diverse – childcare that really works with families and helps assist them through the challenges and struggles of being parents, regardless of their education, background, or family values.
Sheila wanted to be a support to all families, and she wanted an environment that would value the voice and input from children, teachers and families. She strongly believes that everyone has something special to offer in our program and in the community in which we serve.
Today, Sheila Watson has three incredible certified childcare facilities that encompass her earlier vision. She has raised the bar by offering excellent student-to-teacher ratios, family support/assistance, and healthy meals, in a structured and educational setting. This is an accomplishment she can be proud of, knowing that the care being provided is the same that she would provide for her own children.
Discovery Gardens Childcare was created to meet the needs of families searching for childcare programs in smaller, unique, secure environments. The Discovery Gardens name came from the parents who were enrolled in the very beginning of this endeavor; the inspiration being the foundation of our teaching style that all children learn from their five senses, and the amazing garden that the children create every year at the each facility.
Our operating hours are from Monday-Friday from 7am until 530pm.
