Early childhood education has taught us through practice and research. It has identified that a child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development is created by relationships in the classroom setting and at home. Our program encourages positive peer and social relations, and development of critical thinking skills. Discovery Gardens focuses on the development of self-esteem by providing caregivers and creating an environment that fosters independence and problem-solving skills.
From our Infant program all the way to our Preschool Program, all programs at Discovery Gardens are literacy rich – not only through instruction in areas such as English language skills and teaching the children how to sign, as well as giving them the opportunity to learn other languages, but also in connecting literacy concepts to the world around them through combining writing with art, labeling, and books, along with our regular day-to-day activities.
Discovery Gardens has built a strong foundation through the relationships we have developed with our families and their children, and this foundation fosters a safe and trusting environment in which children can learn, create, and grow.
