Wobblers & Toddlers

Toddlers and Wobblers are concerned about who they are and who is in charge. Our toddler and wobbler program starts at 18 months and continues through age 3. During this period children start to question age and identity becomes a dominant developmental issue closely tied to independence, control and discovery, with an increasing purposefulness.

We will help our toddlers to find appropriate ways to assert themselves, by supporting their individuality, by giving them choices whenever possible, and introducing social guidelines as well as providing an environment that will promote group play, fantasy play, and independent activities.

We will help teach them how to be safe, and how to get what they need without taking, how to ask for help from adults and other children. We will help teach them how to use their words to express their feelings and understand other peoples’ feelings. We will teach them about their emotions and how to empathize with others.

During the toddler and wobbler years they are filled with exploration, questions, discovery, determination as well as anxiety, confusion, fear, and fatigue. We will offer experiences for them that will support initiative, creativity, autonomy, self-esteem, and of course rest. We provide a safe and loving environment, and help address anxiety and fears as they appear.

Our teachers are able to help the children with conflicts as they learn to define themselves and defend themselves. We know our toddlers and wobblers well and we create strong relationships with all of our children. We know that they are capable and we give them ample opportunities for increased responsibility and to learn how to master competency in all areas of development. After the age of 2 years, daily report cards from parents go from mandated to becoming optional.

Your toddlers will learn the following:

  • Preschool skills
  • Potty training
  • Fine motor skills
  • Gross motor skills
  • Language and literacy
  • Social and emotional skills, through play and everyday activities
  • Independence
  • Team-work
  • Sharing
  • STEM Principles
  • And much more!

We also give you a Daily Parent Communication Report, which gives you the information you need about your Toddler’s day. We believe communication is the key to your child’s success, and we are always available for conferences and discussions.
